Mechanical Engineering
The department of Mechanical Engineering is established in the year 1986 with UG Programme B.E. (Mechanical Engineering). The department also has started PG Programme M.Tech. in Production Engineering in year 1998 and CAD /CAM in year 2004. The department is accredited by National Board of Accreditation in year 2003 and 2009 for five years , 2016 and 2020 for three year.
Mechanical engineering is a broad area of engineering. Mechanical engineers can work in thrust areas like Design and development, Industrial Engg and Manufacturing and Thermal Engineering. Individuals with interests in machinery and who enjoy math, science and problem solving may find careers in a mechanical engineering field lucrative and rewarding. They can apply math and science principles to problems in designing tools, engines and machinery. Engineers play important roles in the manufacturing industry.
The major strength of the department is all faculty members are postgraduate and many of them are Ph.D. The teaching experience of most of the faculty is over 15 years. Department has received grant of Rs. 75.5 Lakh for session 2012-16, from AICTE, New Delhi , under the schemes of RPS , NAFETIC and MODROB. Centre of Excellence for Digital Manufacturing and Robotics develop under National Facilities In Engineering & Technology with Industrial Collaboration (NAFETIC)
The department is approved as a Research Centre for Ph.D. by RTMNU. Active and well establish student chapter of SAE INDIA and ISHARE
